Goals of the workshop

Introduce early childhood staff to how developmental movement affects development of the brain and long term impacts on cognition and organization of attention.

 

Movement and Brain Development

Movement and Brain Development is a workshop focused on the impacts of babiesŐ developmental movement on fundamental organization of the brain and attentional networks.  This research based workshop provides practical applications and best practices for early childhood programming.  

 

Workshop outcomes

Staff participating in the Movement and Brain Development Workshop will learn:

           

            What the long term impacts of movement are on learning for school age children.

            How movement affects childrenŐs ability to learn and pay attention

            How the developmental process of self organization takes place.

            How movement organizes the brain.

            How to recognize cognitive development in movement.

            How to support pre-academic skills and mastery learning.
